American 777 departs rwy 31L in late summer evening. The airplanes in the background are in line for 31L departure and there are more airplanes in front of the ones you see in the photo (look at the 7 thousand foot marker). All it takes is an afternoon thunderstorm and JFK, EWR and LGA can get very messy given the massive traffic coming in and out of those airports during the evening rush
